Heat capacities (C_p) of cubic phase and SmC phase are compared at the phase transition temperature of isotropic mesogens ANBC (n) (n=16, 18, 20, 22). All compounds show smaller C_p in the cubic phase than in SmC phase. Smaller C_p results from the suppression of fluctuation due to the three-dimensional connectivity of triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) in cubic phases, as in the case of the entropy itself. The difference in C_p has distinct dependence on the alkyl-chain length for the cubic phases of different space groups (Ia3d and Im3m). The Ia3d phase shows smaller C_p than the Im3m phase in ANBC (22).
