抄録

LC aligns parallel and perpendicular to the rubbing direction on the UV irradiated and non-irradiated surfaces of the photo-crosslinkable polymer with film chalconyl side chains, respectively. The polarized UV absorption of the polymer is measured and positive and negative signs of the dichroism are reasonable to the LC alignment direction parallel and perpendicular to the rubbing direction.
