We studied bending-iteration tolerance of a flexible ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) device containing polymer fiber networks and lattice-shaped walls for future roll-up screen displays. We first confirmed stability of smectic layer structures in a monostable FLC device without polymers when shearing glass substrates. We then fabricated a flexible monostable FLC device (size : 10cm xlOcm) with plastic substrates by utilizing two-step photopolymerization-induced phase separation processes of FLC/monomer solution. We repeated bending the device at a minimum curvature radius of 20mm in time period of 20s. As a result, the microscopic texture and electrooptic effect of the FLC stabilized by the polymers were not changed even after bending of over 1000 times.
