乳酸ダイマーを導入した拡張π共役強誘電性液晶におけるバルク光起電力効果

抄録

We synthesized terthiophene derivatives bearing lactic dimer units. These compounds exhibited chiral ordered smectic phases at room temperature. In the ordered smectic phase, a macroscopic polarization was induced by a DC bias application during the phase transition from the isotropic to the smectic phase. In the polarized states, the bulk photovoltaic effect was observed in these compounds. In particular, the fill factor and durability of the photovoltaic cell were improved because of the suppression of the thermal motion of the side chains.
