Liquid crystal(LC) molecular alignment on polymer surfaces with some microscopic morphology was studied. Experiments were carried out by pulling the substrate, which was previously prepared by SiO 60° oblique evaporation, out of the PVA aqueous solution. The state of LC alignment of directors and pretilts depended strongly on the concentration of PVA, the pull-up speeds and Pull-up directions related to the direction of oblique evaporation. Then, by controlling these parameters, the areas of differently aligned LC textures could be clearly obtained on the same substrate.
