Abstract
We measured the quantity of scattering particles of asbestos from asbestos slates : containing 7% chrsotile, that were deteriorated after using as roofs of a factory located in kyoto City. Before measurement test pieces were treated with several cleaning method : bamboo broom, by vaccum cleaner. Next, primer were painted on treated pieces with roller or airless spray. The measurments were carried out during painted and after drying. The quantity of asbestos particles were measured by phase contrast microscope, and density of chrysotile fiber was measured by dispersion staining method. As a result, it is also comfirmed that substrate preparation methods are very immportant for controlling asbestos fiber release and durability of coating systems.
