Outdoor exposure test for evaluation of coating specifications applicable to deteriorated asbestos containing boards

Abstract

21 types of coating systems which can be applicable to deteriorated asbestos containing boards were evaluated through outdoor exposure test. Bonding performance of coated layers to the substrate were measured by use of cross-cut test befor and after the outdoor exposure test. One of the important point for these coating systems is substrate preparation methods before coating. For obtaining the ideal substrate, perfect substrate preparation is necessary. However, asbestos fiber release becomes remarkably in such sustrate preparation.
