Part4. Anti-staining effect of refreshed joint which was replaced SR-2 sealant to IB-2 sealant after weathering for nine years

Abstract

Although silicon sealants show excellent waterproof property and excellent weatherability, a staining can be observed around silicon joints. By former papers, following conclusions have been reported. 1) An excellent anti-staining effect of poly-isobutylene sealants (IB-2) has confirmed after three years outdoor exposure. 2) Evaluating method for staining have been established by measuring a contact angle and lightness. In this paper, we repot that IB-2 sealants show an excellent anti-staining effect of refreshed joints which were replaced SR-2 sealant to IB-2 sealant even after weathering for nine years.
