Abstract
In part1 and part2 of this report, the research background and outline of pretest for surface treatments before coating onto aluminum alloy and result of experiments for thermoplastic fluoropolymer resin paint are described. In this paper, it is included that result of accelerated deterioration tests and interim report on outdoor exposure test. The surface treatments by chromium(VI) type chemical conversion and anodic oxidation are superior to corrosion prevention for aluminum alloy and adhesion of the hardened coating film onto the aluminum alloy suraface. However, non-chromate type chemical conversion is not good in comparison with the above treatments. As a result of the experiments, substitute of the chromium(VI) type chemical conversion has to be continuously studied and reported.
