Experimental studies on basic properties and beautiful appearance of white mortar using TiO₂ powder as an admixture

Abstract

Titanium oxide (TiO₂) is famous for using as a coating material of interior or exterior which is white pigment and photocatalyst. On the other hand, there are few examples of mortar and concrete using TiO₂ as admixture and investigation about basic properties is not enough now. The authors made some white mortar test pieces contained various ratio of TiO₂ and have done some experiments such as fresh properties, strength properties, brightness retention and removal of NOx to clarify a part of basic properties of TiO₂ mortar. As a result, strength decreased slightly but antifouling properties tended to improve as TiO₂ ratio increases in this study.
