Reinfoced concrete structures have been constructed so much by rapid economic growth in 1960's.These structures have been deteriorating with time at present, and it is demanded at society that structures can run a long term. So the repair and retrofitting should be necessary to keep the use of existing structures, therefore condition assessment of existing reinforced concrete structures is quite important. The carbonation is one of the factor of deterioration of structures. Finishing materials affect the carbonation of concrete structures. However the opportunity of survey for actual buildings are not sufficient. Then this study reports on the condition assessment of reinforced concrete structures which were built at 1960's, from the viewpoints of visual observation, cracks on the outer wall, concrete quality such as compressive strength and carbonation depth by using core samples extracted from the structure. Also air permeability test was performed with nondestructive test.

Therefore, the dwelling space which correspondence of the device which can perform housekeeping and child-rearing comfortably, a child's injury, the dirt of everyday life, etc. can reduce as much as possible is called for. From the result of "the questionnaire about the building materials of the residence for child-rearing" carried out as part of activity with the Architectural Institute of Japan Kanto branch material construction special committee uni-versal design building materials WG, Consideration of the result in building-materials selection is performed, and since the building materials for child-rearing residences needed from now on were examined, the part is reported. For example, what kind of indoor dirt being worrisome and the thing mentioned and worried were made to choose to three about each of sitting room, a kitchen, and a children's room. In sitting room, there was little difference between men and women of consciousness, and there was a tendency for peeling of wallpaper and floor dirt to be worrisome. In kitchen, the woman besides the dirt of a flooring material tended to have cared also about the dirt of wallpaper. Although the tendency for a male to worry the dirt of a crack and a flooring material was seen in the children's room, as for the woman, it was the feature that opinions, such as a wall, a floor, a crack, etc. which the surface of a wall became dirty, are divided. Surface-impregnation materials and coating agents would be effective in maintaining the authenticity of historical reinforced concrete buildings. This study investigates the effect of the surface-impregnation materials and coating agents in preventing the water vapor and gas ingress into concrete. The following results were obtained: (1) The surface-impregnation materials did not have the prevention of water vapor, however the type of silicate prevent the progress of carbonation by water sprinkling. (2) The surface-coating agents have a significant effect on the prevention of water vapor by pilling up in layers. (3) A good agreement was found between air permeability and carbonation progress at field research; It shows air permeability might be a good index to evaluate the decrease of preventive effect to deterioration of coating.

As the demand for highly durable and technically advanced buildings increase, the improvement of ALC panels used mainly for buildings has also become necessary. One method to bring about such improvement in the durability of ALC panels is densification. Therefore we have investigated the properties of high-density ALC panels and have reported the results herein. In part 1 of the experiment, we have set the density of the high-density ALC panels at 450-750 kg/m3 as it is the realm of density which can be produced by the current production method and examined the ALC's compressive strength, bending strength, tensile strength, shear strength, Young's modulus, change of length and insulation property in relation to the density.

This thesis is a report of the result of "Investigation research on the method of accelerated weathering test for JIS A 5422 (Fiber reinforced cement sidings)" executed in Japan Fiber Reinforced Cement Sidings Manufacturers Association. In this report part 2, it reports on the proposals of the method of accelerated weathering test by metalhalide lamp for fiber reinforced cement sidings based on the result of the examination in NYG. The following conclusions were obtained. 1)The method by metalhalide lamp needs more consideration for the standard accelerated weathering test, because the evaluation result of the color difference has the tendency to vary according to the painting specification of the examination specimen and the test condition of the test machine. 2)The user of the fiber reinforced sidings is strongly demanding the standardization of the accelerate weathering test by the metalhalide lamp, because it is effective to shortening the test time and developing of the long life products. 3)The Association Standard method of weathering test by the metalhalide lamp was proposed aiming the collection and the examination of the experiment data.

Replaced with the conventional thermosetting type solvent coating system as paint specification of the aluminium materials for the construction exterior, basic properties, accelerated weathering tests and the outdoor exposure tests being done from 2008 estimated the powder coatings which attracts attention as an eco-friendly paint system. In the basic property examination, there are not the conventional coating system and great difference and it was checked that there is no performance top problem. Moreover, by accelerated weathering tests or outdoor exposure tests, while weatherability equivalent to a solvent system fluoroplastics coatings were checked, a fluoroplastics powder coatings, When no less than three years passed depending on exposure environment, it was not concerned with the resin system but it turned out that a gloss fall is remarkable, and FT-IR analysis was conducted for the degradation coat, and the degradation mechanism was investigated. As a result, although it did not result in the mechanism elucidation, it was suggested by the photocatalytic reaction of titanium oxide which is paints that paint resin is carrying out oxidation degradation, and it decided to evaluate the fluoride and polyester hybrid powder coating system which can expect the improvement effect by (Part 2) by it.

Fluoride and polyester hybrid powder coatings contain fluoroplastics, polyester, paints, an additive agent, etc. With the character of resin, it is said that fluoride is oriented by the surface at the time of with a glow, and polyester is oriented by the lower layer.By (Part 1), the degradation phenomenon of paint resin by the photocatalytic reaction of titanium oxide paints is suggested, The evaluation test (basic property, boiling-water-resistance, corrosion resistance, accelerated-weathering-resistance, and outdoor exposure weatherability) plan about fluoride and a polyester hybrid powdered paint system under which the improvement effect over it is expected, and the result of a basic property examination are reported.Since fluoride and a polyester hybrid powdered paint have the adhesion of the durability of fluoroplastics, and the foundation of polyester resin, it may serve as predominance in respect of quality and cost. Moreover, it works as an additive agent by blending polyester resin, and since the effect which inhibits the photocatalytic reaction of titanium oxide paints is expectable, a weatherability evaluation test is due to be evaluated by performing progress and observation.

The powder coating atracts attention as the environmnet-concious type paint that VOC is not exhausted in the backed enamel coating system on aluminum alloy building materials that adoption increases. About many kinds of powder coatings,we carried out three kinds of accelated weathering test and evaluated weather resistance. As a results, fluoro resin powder coating showed the weather resistance that was equal to solvent type thermosetting fluoro carbon enamel, and understood that it was high weather resistance. On the other hand,it was judged that weather resistance of polyester powder coating with many overseas results is insufficient.

For evaluation of reflective thermal-insulating paint color, we examined the artificial lamp as heat source which related to the sun. The testing method is JSTM-6100(2003). SAT meter measured various colors at temperature to reach 80°C. As a result, the correlation between sun and metal halide lamp was R^2=0.91(error 4.9% to sun) and halogen bulb was R^2=0.75( error 10.8%). Metal halide lamp was good experimental light source for evaluation of thermal property of various paint color.

This paper describes the effect of self-cleaning cool roof paint wihich was coated on the roof of real building. This study clarified the following results. (1) The solar reflectance became diminished because of stain 2 months after the painting. (2) The decrease in the solar reflectance and L value of self-cleaning type was smaller than the conventional type. (3) The surface temperature of self cleaning type was lower than the one of conventional type. (4) According to the thermal load caluculation, it is predicted that the electrical consumption decrease by using self-cleaning cool roof paint.
