Abstract
Experimenttal estimations and investigation into the actual conditions in foreign countries have been urged in order to apply powdered coated aluminum alloy to building exterior materials in Japan. In this paper, QUALICOAT and AAMA which have been utilized as evaluation methods for the coating in overseas have been examined and estimation methods for the powder coating that takes into consideration the actual circumstances Japan's construction industry are discussed. Cosequently, the evaluatin methods are proposed as a Japan Aluminum Products Association Standard. The object items are as follows. (1) Appearance (2) Colour (3) Suffece glossiness (4) Film thickness (5) Film hardness (6) Initial adhesion (7) Boiling water resistance (8) Impact resistance (9) Cutting and drilling resistance (10) Solvent resistnce (11) Alikali resistance (12) Weatherability for outdoor exposure. Cupping and bending resistance have not been taken up because post-processing is not common in Japan. Accelerated weathering tests exclude in the standard because the correlation with the outdoor exposure test results has been not clear. Comments are appendixed to above all items.
