The most important quality among polyurethane membrane is coat thickness. Application work is subject to the influence of the environment at the time of construction, a worker's skill, a construction method, etc. However, The unevenness of polyurethane membranes thickness and the shortage of thickness may arise, and in order to check it, the film-thickness-measurement inspection is conducted. There are various methods in a film-thickness-measurement inspection, and there are merit and Demerit, respectively. There is little information about the accuracy of the measured value, and reliability, which method should be adopted or judgment is also difficult. This research checks the accuracy of the film-thickness-measurement method of polyurethane membranes, and examines the applicability.

In order to understand the degradation mechanism of tank lining material caused by kitchen drainage, some investigations and experiments were conducted. The drainage water and the floating substance were sampled from tank, and the principal component analysis of it was conducted. Trace amounts of short-chain fatty acid were detected form the drainage water. Trace amounts of short-chain fatty acid and large amounts of long-chain fatty acid were detected from the floating substance. The experiments that dip epoxy in the drainage water or in the floating substance were carried out. The epoxy degraded remarkably by contact with the floating substance.

In this report lining material was soaked in the imitation drainage (lower-fatty-acid solution) and the imitation scum(higher fatty acid), and that was estimated appearance, weight, and volume at interval. As a result, it has been large to change in the weight and volume, when it was soaked into higher fatty acid more than into lower-fatty-acid solution. And so it was guessed that the key factor of degradation is not the lower fatty acid contained in drainage but higher fatty acid contained in scum. Moreover, the tendency for degradation speed to change due to the bridge construction density of lining material and the molecular weight of organic acid has been grasped.

This study is a contribution on social cause utilizing marketing efforts (i.e., cause marketing) of the environmental protection products for buildings. It first examined the impact of the product characteristics of infrared reflection coatings (IRCs) on thermal barrier performance for buildings with publicly available data from the Ministry of the Environment. Then, it conducted a questionnaire survey on environmental protection products including IRCs in order to examine consumers' awareness and purchasing behavior for the products. It is found that consumers are heterogeneous with respect to their awareness, behavior and concern about the environment protection and the products for it. For example, consumers who chose IRCs consider that the cost of construction and maintenance is important rather than social responsibility and awareness for environmental protection. Thus, a marketing strategy for the product needs the deliberate segmentations of consumers.

Surface protection ability of specimens consisted of mortar and four kinds of silane penetrant both treated at 5°C, 20°C and 60°C, respectively, was measured after three days curing period. In the case of penetrating depth, it became long when the silane temperature was 5°C and the mortar temperature was raised. On the other hand, it became shot when the mortar temperature was 5°C and the silane temperature was raised. As for the ability defined by ratios of permeability, absorption, carbonation depth and chloride-ion penetration, it improved when the silane temperature was 5°C and the mortar temperature was raised. When the mortar temperature was 5°C and the silane temperature was raised, the ability defined by them declined.

In Japan, the powder coatings which doesn't contain the solvent are remarkable, because of the VOC exhaust problem. In the last presentation,we gave an account of the evaluated results about the cured powder coating's film on the aluminum alloy. We experimentally made the powder coating by adding oriented thermosetting fluorine resin with high weather resistance to polyester resin. In this study, we are aiming at practical application of the powder coating, we present next two matters. Although it usually constructed the Shimoji coating plastering materials, by the time construction of plastering materials became a process of the following glazing material including construction of the Shimoji coating plastering materials and drying time, three day in between was required for it at least. When a cold district and temperature were low, when humid, still longer care-of-health time was required. Furthermore, it dried after construction of glazing material, and by the time it started to use, three days were further needed. Therefore, by the repair work, since this time was not able to be taken, also when adoption of inorganic plasterer finish material was not completed, it was. Moreover, in the case of plywood or a concrete bed, the ground needed to construct the float inhibitor and water absorption inhibitor of the stain from a ground. This time, the wallpaper of the permeability which can replace the Shimoji coating material was constructed as a ground, and plastering materials were constructed.

To control the increase in the temperature of steel materials during a fire, steel structures require fireproofing protections; recently, fireproof paints have been used for fireproofing. The coating of a steel frame at construction sites involves the application of a fireproof paint of the same color as the steel structure until the coated film is of a predetermined thickness. However, the difficultly in confirming the thickness visually results in insufficient or incomplete painting in some cases, which may lead to deterioration of the construction quality. In this study, we investigated materials that can easily color fireproof paints at construction sites, evaluated the adhesive property of these coatings by re-painting the fireproof paints, and conducted an accelerated deterioration test to confirm that the foaming characteristics of the fireproof paint films were suitable. To assess the construction quality of the colored fireproof paints, we evaluated the changes in the fireproof paint thickness caused by incomplete painting during the construction of the civil engineering steel structures, and confirmed the effectiveness of the coatings.

The weather-resistant specification of combined coatings of anodic oxide and organic coatings on aluminium and aluminium alloys, Type A1 was newly established when JIS H 8602:2010, the main product standard used in Japan for the surface treatment of aluminium construction materials was having its performance standards revised from defining the specifications by coating thickness to defining the specifications by coating performance. At the meantime, the international standard, ISO 28340:2013 had also been established. On the other hand, powder coatings are being used widely in Europe and Southeast Asia regions. Hence, in order to introduce the combined coating products to the global market, the oversea outdoor-exposure data indicating the durability of the combined coatings would be necessary. This study shows the outline of outdoor-exposure test being implemented in 7 countries across Europe, the United States , Southeast Asia and China since 2012, along with the results of various performance tests carried out using powder coatings and combined coatings of anodic oxide and organic coatings.

Surface treatment with mortar is necessary to waterproof the ALC tiles when finishing the tiles at the site using organic adhesive. However, to perform such surface treatment with mortar in addition to finishing the tiles using organic adhesive at the site is troublesome, and brings about problems such as not being able to properly mix the mortar and having to perform extra work which is an obstruction to popularizing the method of finishing ALC panels with organic adhesive. Therefore based on the belief that surface treatment using acrylic resin instead of mortar is easier for construction and for quality control of surface treatment, we have conducted various studies using organic adhesive and acrylic resin. As a result, we have found that acrylic resin is as effective as mortar for surface treatment.

We reported that coating tile finish wall with transparent acrylic urethane waterproofing membrane (this method) can reduce risks of the adhesive deterioration of tiles due to fatigue in repetition of stretching and shrinking, which is caused by changes of temperature and humidity. In this report (part 2), We investigated changes of both adhesive strength and failure surface due to 3000 cycles repetition tests of heating-cooling, drying-humidifying, and heating-cooling and drying-humidifying repeat test. As a result, it was revealed that the adhesive deterioration is caused by not only the repetition of heating-cooling but also that of drying-humidifying. This indicates that use of this method against water invasion can prevent the segregation of tile finish wall due to its aging deterioration.

Currently, gypsum board has been used as an interior finish for many buildings, there are various types of anchor for gypsum board , such as interior instrument into the gypsum board. However, examples of comparing and considering the pulling strength by their shape is small. In this study, to classify various types of anchors for gypsum board shape and construction methods , we examined the effect of the pull-out strength depending on the type of anchor. In this paper, we classify all of the gypsum board to 6 type, were selected to test the 12 types from among them. First performed monotonic loading pull-out test, with reference to the data obtained in the test, was performed repeatedly loading pull-out test. Showed that compared the data of the two types of tests, fixation of the anchor to pull-out strength of the anchor for gypsum board, is that the shape is greatly affected found.

Reserch on avoidance of hazardous chemical substances in baking enamel coating on aluminum alloy has been continued and weatherability has been estimated by outdoor expsure tests in Okinawa and south of latitude 38 degrees N in Southeast islands. In this paper, the outdoor expusure test results on test pieces that applied chromium VI, chromium III, chromium phospahte, chromium-free chemical conversion and anodic oxidation as the surface preparation and coated with solvent type thermosetting fluorocarbon enamel are reported. Main results are as follows. (1) The coating on anodic oxidized aluminum alloy has most excellent wetherability and chromium VI chemical converted has excellent corrosion prevention effect as wel as the anodic oxidized. (2) It is judged that the coating on chromium III chemical converted has not quite different from chromium VI chemical converted in corrosion inhibition effect. However, the difference is claer in combination of kinds of chemical reagent and paint. (3) The coating on some chromium-free chemical conversion has enough corrosion protection effect. However, many kinds of the chemicals has remakable deterioration and it is difficult to keep stable quality. Therefore, it is necessary to apply carefully the chromium-free chemicals.

Reserach on avoidance of hazardous chemical substances in baking enamel coating on aluminum alloy has been continued. In this paper, analysis results of coating film surface, and backface and cross section of peeled off film that has been outdoor exposed for 84 months at 2 sites in Okinawa mainland are reported. Main results are as follows. (1) Sodium and Chloride on the outdoor exposed specimen surface are largely detected from the specimen that has exposed at Ikeijima where the coating has been deteriorated since early in their exposure test. (2) Existance of aluminum chloride and oxide are estimated in the blistered part based on elements detected from the substrate surface and the peeled off coating backface that has been blistered. (3) It is presumed that chrolide exists on the coating blistering part on the aluminum substrate and aluminum oxide has been produced based on the cross section observation. (4) It is judged that the adherent chloride to the specimen causes to accelerate the deterioration including the coating gloss down, chalking and blistering etc. (5) Elements analysis on the outdoor exposed test pieces is useful for coating durability estimation.
