Since there was no information on how to repair loose & floating building tiles, The Japan Resin Injection Association researched and developed a standardization on how to repair those tiles using epoxy resin.
The research aimed to:
1. To control the injection pressure process as to avoid disturbing any surrounding tiles.
2. To discover that 60% was the minimum amount of resin to inject. Additionally by using an anchor pin in the center of the loose tiles and injecting the resin through it we found that it was the best way to avoid disturbing surrounding tiles. This process uses a special epoxy resin.
An example of using the process of 60% or more resin, if the area is 0.91 meter by 0.91 meter, .81m square, then we use 9 anchor pins in 30cm radiuses of each other to repair the area 100%, but only we only cover 79% of the area.Note:
1. Use 9 anchor pins for 0.81m sq., inject resin.
2. Inject enough resin to fill a 30cm circle - this is our standard specification. Based on this specification we conducted a test of this process on two different areas. Several days later we broke the tiles away and confirmed that the 30cm radius had in fact worked.
