Chemical analysis was studied to research in-depth dugradation of construction sealant. Samples of silyl terminated polyether type construction sealant after light irradiation by EMMAQUA weatherability test with static condition were analyzed by shape observation with microscpe, composition analysis with ATR-IR, and elemental analysis with EDX measurement. (1) Organic composition had decreased at surface of irradiated part, and crack had genarated at the surface. (2)Degradation phenomena such as crack was found only closed to the surface, and it did not go to inner area. (3) Combination with polyacrylate to silyl terminated polyether can suppress degradation process of construction sealant.
