We have already reported the related two papers about flame retardant technology for woody materials by painting. In this paper, we modified the paint specification reported in part 1 and report the result of various kinds of tests with the modified paints. As for the under coat, the use of a certain versatic acid paint improved alkali stain resistance and wrinkle suppression. Regarding water glass paint, addition of silica particles into the paint could adjust the viscosity. When the paint was deficient in the silica added, drip resistance was not efficient, while when excessive amount of the silica was added into one, flatness of the paint was not desirable. And we found appropriate amount of the silica to avoid the problems. For the top coat, the use of an water-glass paint mixed with lithium silicate enhanced the adherability between the water glass paint and the top coat. And applying 200 g/m2 of acrylic-urethan paint onto water-glass paints improved the adherability and the water resistance.
