The writers examined the quartz-diorite occurred at the Mt. Mito, and they are considering it for the heat source of the Tsurunoyu hot springs. The results are as follows.
(1) The quartz-diorite occurred three stocks on a small scale. (2) These stocks have nearly same rock minerals and textures, and may be intrusived about same stage. (3) The rock is the medium grain and holocrystalline, and its marginal parts are the fine grained rocks. (4) The Itsukaichi-Kawakami tectonic line cannot be found in this region. (5) The bed rocks about the Mt. Mito consist of sandstone with thin slate layers.
