Principle and technique of neutron activation analysis for determining individual elements are described at first. Advantages and limitation are also considered for any type of solid sample in nature. The application of this neutron activation analysis method is carried out for the determination of trace elements in plant and in soil. The sensitivity and range of elements determinable are discussed. For the estimation of detection limits of the objective elements by using this activation analysis, the amounts of radioactive products irradiated with reactor thermal neutrons are listed at the end of this article.
