There are 5373 cultural properties in Japan designated as national treasures or important cultural assets, and securing wood for restoration of cultural assets is an important issue. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to secure suitable timber for restoration due to changes in forest carrying capacity. In this study, we considered that forecasting demand and supply is necessary for a stable supply of timber, and attempted to forecast the demand for timber needed for cultural properties and the supply based on the amount of logged timber. As a result, it was found that in Nagano Prefecture there is enough supply to meet the demand for cedar.
