Scroll 6 of the Kegon ryakki 華厳略記第六 is a unknown commentary on Scrolls 9 to 10 of the Xu huayan lüeshu kanding ji 続華厳略疏刊定記 written by Huiyuan 慧苑(673?–743?). The fact that it preserves the lost portions of the Xu huayan lüeshu kanding ji makes it an extremely valuable document. This paper aims to examine the citations in Scroll 6 of the Kegon ryakki. The conclusions of the analysis are as follows. First, most of the passages in question were re-quoted in the Xu huayan lüeshu kanding ji by Huiyuan and in the Huayan jing tanxuan ji 華厳経探玄記 by Fazang 法蔵 (643–712). In particular, this manuscript heavily relies on Fazang, but I could not confirm the citation of Chengguan’s 澄観(738–839) commentary. I point out some important examples concerning the formation of this manuscript.
