In this study, we propose a novel fishing support system using millimeter size acceleration sensors for detecting fish bite. On the base of field test, rod top acceleration of vibration with fish bite and its human cognition were investigated by sensor measurement and verbal communication, respectively. As a result, it was shown that an experimental participant could not cognize all of fish bites that were detected by the sensor. Thus, the validity of the fishing support system with the acceleration sensor mounted on a rod top was confirmed.
