The design of LC simulation type active RC filters is well known. The active RC filters using the LC simulation have an inherent low-sensitivity property of the LC ladder filter. Moreover, the circuit parameters of conventional LC ladder filters can be utilized. The LC simulation is realized by using the gyrator. This paper describes the three-port gyrator constructed by using new four-port current conveyors (CFCC II's) and the grounded resistances. The CFCC II is implemented by second-generation current conveyor (CC II) with a current follower. A new multiport gyrator which is obtained by an extension of the three-port gyrator is proposed. As an example, the fifth-order LC ladder low-pass filter (LPF) using the five-port gyrator was realized. The experiment results agree well with the theoretical value. In addition, the dynamic range and the amplitude sensitivity of the LPF were considered. The proposed circuit reduces the influence of the parasitic elements of the current conveyors because all passive elements are grounded.
