Abstract

We have proposed of a novel pre-selector for spectrum analyzer used over 100 GHz. This pre-selector is a filter bank embedded band pass filters in a waveguide switch part. Since this filter bank is composed of the waveguide switch, the performance of the waveguide switch decides on the using range of the filter bank. In particular, the broadband of the waveguide joint is needed. In this paper, we proposed expansion method of the frequency range in the waveguide joint with improved chokes. In addition, to confirm an effect of this expansion method, we fabricated and evaluated of the WR-4 band filter bank prototype. As a result, the prototype operated with a relative bandwidth 34% (185 GHz∼260 GHz).
