Abstract
Abstract A method for calculating the harmonic input impedance ZH and harmonic losses WH of induction motors operating from PAM- and PWM inverters is presented. The method is derived by use of six test motors, of ratings from 1.5 KW to 900 KW. A simple method is given for calculating the skin effect coefficients KR and KX. The method indicates that it is necessary to consider the skin effects and the stray load losses. Effects of harmonic order, and carrier frequency on ZH and WH are discussed,
