Marital conflict is a risk factor for children exhibiting internalized problem behaviors and depressive symptoms. Depressive tendencies are also closely associated with various mental health issues in children. This case study reports on a client couple with frequent arguments and escalating marital conflict, as well as their maladjusted child. Interviews based on the revised Three Steps Model were conducted with the couple and their child. Five sessions were conducted, including intake interviews, and the case was closed after improvement was observed. We examined the effectiveness of the normalizing, reframing, “Do More,” and “Do Something Different” interventions in the revised Three Steps Model for this case, as well as for identifying communication patterns between the couple.
