The purpose of this paper is to construct the research method of villages. This research will become surveys for maintaining the landscape of Noto-satoyama. This research is divided with three steps : the literature survey, the field survey and the questionnaire survey. We make a model of the building form in Yanagida village as the literature survey, extracting texts on its buildings. In Kurokawa district, we worked the composition of buildings as the field survey and the relation between the living / culture and the building from the questionnaire survey. To construct research method, we used these three surveys on Kurokawa district as the case study. Yanagida village had 23 districts. And then, we could typify there districts as seven categories through the position of buildings to the river.
