The present paper deals with the experimental study on the sex difference in the secretion of sweat.
1) Sex difference in the response of the sweat glands to the intracutaneous injection of acetylcholine: Male sweat glands were fourd to be more sensible than that of females in the response to acetylcholine.
2) Sex difference in the initial period of the perspication and in the amounts of sweat: a) According to the measurements of the local sweating by means of Kuno's method, there was no difference in the initial sweating by sex. However, total amounts of the local sweat in male sex were greater than that of female sex. b) According to the measurements of the electrical resistance of skin, there was no sex difference in the initial sweating.
3) Sex difference in the total amounts of sweat from the whole body during 1 hour's walk at summertime: That of male sex was greater than that of female sex.
These results may indicate that there is no sex difference in the function of sweating center, however, sweat glands of male sex are more active than that of female sex.
