Effects of protective apparatus of O. S. K. type on scattering rays and damage from rays were investigated and the following results were obtained.
1) Scattering rays of 50mr could be obtained in X-ray room after indirect radiographing of 20 individuals or fluorescopic examination of digestive organs of 6-8 patients.
2) Leaden screen or veneered door was unsatisfactory in preventive effects on scattering rays.
3) Dose of scattering rays could be minimized by protecting apparatus such as O. S. K. type.
4) From the results of examination it is felt that position of operator and X-ray installations should be taken carefully into consideration.
