This paper describes a study of the receiving terminals for digital satellite broadcasting which will be introduced in coming years. Receiver functions and configurations are examined considering the requirements to the receiver. Also examined is an extendibility to receive new types of digital data broadcast in future as well as digital HDTV broadcast.
