A horizontal deflection circuit using a 1700V VCBO transistor has been studies to reduce CRT display power consumption. The transistor power can be reduced by 4W at an 80kHz horizontal scanning frequency by reducing a deflection yoke current. The transistor power can be related to on-resistance of the transistor.
