25-8 Range-Image Sensor using Phase-only Correlation

Abstract

We propose a new range-image sensor. It features 4 points. They are (1) using Phase-only correlation (POC) for parallax calculation, (2) integration of two image sensor into 1 chip, (3) using CMOS image sensor and (4) quick range-image generation as fast as 300fps. POC is suitable for parallax calculation because its correlation image peak is very sharp. This sensor has an ability to integrate range-calculation logic with image sensors because it is made with CMOS process.
