抄録
Since 1995, Korean electronics industries and academia including national research institute started to collaborate in the development of advanced technologies for the large screen, high resolution TFT-LCDs and PDPs having less power consumption with higher contrast and brightness. Some goals of this research and development comprise the commercialization of flat panel displays such as 18"〜30" TFT-LCDs and 40"〜50" PDPs for desktop computer monitors and wide screen HDTVs. Time for mass production will be determined with the growth of market size and the manufacturing cost down as well as the improvement of display performance.
