Abstract

Live imaging is the technique to observe live cells and tissues using optical microscope, and is becoming essential for biological researches. However, biological structures with different refractive index reside in live cells and tissues in a complex manner, and disturb the wavefront of light. Consequently, images of the inside of live cells and tissues are degraded. To correct the disturbed wavefront and perform fine live imaging during the stem-cell formation in plants, we are now trying to apply adaptive optics (AO) to live imaging. In the talk, we will summarize the progress of our research on AO live imaging.
