8-9 A study on extraction of petal region on flower images using hue component

Abstract

In recent years, image segmentation on scenery photos or nature photos has been one of the most significant issues. In general, for image segmentation, users are required to input some information presenting the difference between the regions of "object" and "background" in advance. In this study, the authors studied the automatic method for extraction of petal region on flower images by using hue component which no data input required.
