Abstract

This paper reports on the design and collaboration between the teachers who participated in the project conducted in 2021 in which the students and teachers from five universities in Japan, China, and Korea translated picture books and practiced online picture book talk in multiple languages for children with various backgrounds in Japan and overseas. This paper analyzed (1) what problems arose, (2) how the teachers collaborated and solved those problems, and (3) what issues remained, providing specific examples, and discussed how teachers should collaborate in this type of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) project.
