Abstract
This study presents a practical report on “Turkic Languages in recipes,” conducted as a summer intensive lecture at the TUFS Open Academy. This online three-day seminar featured three Turkic language specialists who introduced recipes to demonstrate both the diversity and similarities of Turkic languages and to lower psychological barriers to learning a new language. During the lectures, the specialists guided learners in reading recipes written in previously unstudied languages, encouraging them to make inferences based on their verbal and cultural experiences as well as their existing linguistic knowledge. The seminar also included learners studying Turkic languages with different linguistic backgrounds, fostering cross-linguistic understanding. As a result of this practice, some learners began studying a new Turkic language, while others enrolled in an advanced-level course after the seminar.
