In the previous Part (I), we described the circumstances leading to the establishment of the aseismic design principle, the determination of the earthquake for purposes of design, and the outline of seismic design specification.
In Part (II) and (III), we present a summary of the seismic calculations covering the main components in an endeavor to demonstrate how the principles described in Part (I) are actually embodied in the plant. We take up here the reactor building, containment and pressure vessel which are classified as A, As and A respectively according to the definition in Part (I).
Following this, we will report in Part (III) on the design of the reactor internals, equipment and piping.
