Abstract
For many decades, airports in Japan have been strongly regulated and monitored under the government airport management policies. North American and European airport management styles are examined and compared to those of Japan. The research reveals the restrictions and the ineffectiveness of existing state leading airport management policies, which prevent the healthy growth and the effective use of airports in Japan. Finally, the research analyzes comes up with a proposal and insights for possible change and reform opportunity for Japanese airport management.
