Abstract
An extracellular α-mamylase [EC 3. 2. 1. 1.] was obtained in the culture liquor of Bacillus cereus NY-14 which was isolated from soil and identified by the authors. The culture conditions for the production of the extracellular α-amylase were investigated. The optimum culture medium consisted of 0.5% soluble starch, 1% peptone and 0.5% NaCl. Some other optimum conditions were also determined.
