his paper investigates the topic of public spaces that was split by gender. Space is defined as a unit of human activities in architecture. ‘Space’, in its particular meaning here, is the space of social relations, the space between us as members of society, which implies how we are situated in relation to one another. Ideal public space will be formed when people become a part of the common good and shared their interest. "Gendered space" separating men and women in reviewing produce and reproduce powers and rights. Men and women have different status in some participation. The purpose of the paper is to evaluate and straighten the perception about Islamic Center as a public space. Islamic Tutorial Center (ITC) UPI is a public space which has the same function with the community center. As a public space ITC must be blended and neutral, even it was located right under Masjid Al-Furqon on the Islamic education area. The paper argues that when the public space becomes dominant by certain groups, it makes a common perception and indirectly become a symbol of that area. If a public space should be created as gendered area, it must clearly design by considering the different needs of each gender so they will not be intimidated. But if that public space was not planned as gendered area, the design should consider common need that men and women can be shared each interest together, blend, and neutral. The paper ends by evaluating ITC's design as a public space.
