Since the invention of laser devices, laser has been utilized in many realms for the past decades, including medical and dental procedures. There is replete research that has proventhat laser can reduce inflammation, control pain, accelerate healing and cell regeneration, accelerate orthodontic movement, and many more; nevertheless, many and most dental practitioners still think that laser is just a myth. The aim of this review is to increase the awareness of us, clinicians towards laser and encourage its wider use. This article will describe the mechanism of action of laser and the their various applications in various aspects of dental practices.
