This paper studies an axisymmetric elastic contact problem of an elastic layer bonded on elastic substrate indented by a rigid flat-ended cylindrical and spherical indenter. The analytical solutions are obtained by solving an infinite system of simultaneous equations. The accuracy of values of present numerical results is verified by comparison with the results of some previous studies. Additionally, we presents not only the distribution of the dimensionless normal contact stress under cylindrical and spherical indenters but also the distribution of the dimensionless normal displacement at the upper surface of the elastic layer and the stress singularity factor.
