We conceptualized a compact droplet remover specialized in removing droplets that is installed between a person and another person. By focusing only on the removal of droplets larger than 5 µm in diameter, and by ignoring to collect sub-micron aerosols, it was confirmed that a small, quiet fan with rough filter could achieve sufficient droplet removal performance. In this study, performance of the compact droplet remover was validated in the large (1.5×1.5×2.4 m) clean booth. In addition, removal performance for bacteriophage Qβ dispersed in a 370 L chamber as aerosol with the compact droplet remover was confirmed.
