In recent years, hazard maps have been regarded as one of the crucial tools for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)education. However, the DRR information issued by the national and local governments does not always reach residents. This document focuses on Risk Communication and Hazard Maps with the aim of sharing an accurate understanding of hazards and risks between residents and the administrations, and presents discussions made on these topics and the future prospects. We had discussed the importance of risk assessment using hazard maps, imaging prospective damages as our own issues through risk communication, and risk management and role-sharing by all parties involved.
