Compatibility of Islam and Science?

An Anthropological Inquiry into Environmental Discourses and Practices in Iran

This presentation explores the ways in which two seemingly disparate paradigms – those of science and Islam – compatibly sit together in the case of environmental issues. It demonstrates how Islam is contingently drawn upon and developing in a historically particular manner, and intersects with the tradition of science in Iran through the examples of environmental approaches.
