Abstract
The low back pain occurred highly among the teachers of the schools for weak or handicapped children. It must be corresponded as one of the diseases related to work. This time, comparative study was done about the job background factors of the low back pain among the teachers who worked for the school for weak children, the clerical work members and the school orderly members.
93% of the teachers had past history of the low back pain,66%in the clerical members, and 57%in the orderly workers. The appearance rate of the disease in the teacher was extremely high. In the teachers, the disease appeared as the lumbar vertebra sprain, so-called Gikkuri-goshi, by the work demanded for forced postures such as the halfsitting posture, the bending posture or holding children. After getting the disease they had gone to the hospital, tried to train themselves and changed their work methods or steps for preventing it.
It seemed that these results must be enhanced to their work hygiene education, when they leave their new assignment, because they got the low back pain within a year after the new assignment.
