抄録
Crosslinked polyethylene cables are increasingly used for cables of 66 kV or higher. As these extra-high voltage cables need thicker insulation, continued advances in insulation and manufacturing technology are required. We conducted a series of studies on these problems and devised an ultrasonic wave method to effectuate crosslinking. Our equipment can radiate powerful 400 kHz ultrasonic waves of several kW or higher which can heat the innermost insulator layer of polyethylene and crosslink in a short period of time.
