Studies on the software engineering capabilities in Japan from the viewpoint of applied statistical analyse

Abstract

Based on the data collected from 233 IT firms in the survey on software engineering excellence and financial data of these firms, we have performed several applied statistical analyses such as factor analysis, cross-section analysis, panel analysis, longitudinal analysis, and latent growthcurve analysis. In this paper, we introduce several results using such analyses, e.g., relationships among software engineering capabilities in Japan using panel analysis.
