Abstract
In a severe market situation, a lot of companies lose competitive advantages and can't achieve business growth and profitability. Those companies should change their business operations. For business changes, IT strategy is important as same as HR strategy and financial strategy.
IT can accelerate business changes, but IT might become also an obstacle to changes. Top managements and CIOs need to foresee business changes, and prepare IT systems as business infrastructures. Companies need perspective on business and IT changes.
The objective of this research is to understand what kinds of business changes and IT utilization are performed by companies. For this purpose, the author conducted a survey in which more than 500 Japanese companies participated.
