Abstract
In Japanese meat industry (especially beef distribution), the tracing systems(tracebility)has introduced to provide "food safety" since the BSE problem that occurred in 2000.As for beef, the system with which consumers can easily obtain information about produces and distribution has established.Utilizing traceability contributes not only to show safety but also the brand recognition of meat. However, in regard to pork and chicken, there are still no legislation on traceability. In this report, we study the role and problem of traceability in production and distribution of pork, based on the case of the activity of traceability with brand pork such as "Beni Agu" and "Beni Buta" sold by Ganju Company.
